New World : Elmira City With Save File

It has finally arrived - a final version of Elmira City!  This world is perfect for sims who want the fun and excitement of the city and the quiet peacefulness of a cozy town... without seeing the other.  Created to satisfy my sims who started out in the city but then wanted to feel like they lived in a rural town, Elmira City is a world divided with the rural village area on one side and the bustling city on the other.  The village area has several businesses, parks, a campground and a trailer park.  The city has - everything else, as well as some more upscale housing options.

This version of the world is considered complete, but I will continue to upload lots for this world - especially any lot noted as "reserved."  A save file is in the works now and will have several families, singles and whatnot for you to interact with.  However, I thought for those who are not interested in that - or do not want to wait - here is the download link.  You'll notice there are a few houses not furnished in the city area that are in the save file because I wanted them to feel personalized.  Can't wait to hear your feedback - Enjoy!  =D

World Size:  Medium
Requirements:  Sims 3, Ambitions, Late Night & Generations

P.S.  My Sim Realty is approaching our renewal date for web hosting and what not... If you are able, would you please consider a $1.00 donation to MSR uising the "Donate" button to the right?  It helps keep these downloads free and every bit counts!  This is in NO way required to download this world - I just wanted to put the request out there since my 3rd year anniversary is approaching and therefore also my hosting charges.

  1. MSR I downloaded your world but when I try to install it it says unexpected end of archive so it doesn't let me... :( By the way I am a avid fan of your work, always checking your website for new worlds, thank you so much for sharing them with us, Mil0tic

  2. I was trying to donate to your site, but paypal doesn't accept your e-mail address. Said to let you know there is a problem.

I really like this world, can't wait to try it out. :)

  6. Interesting... I installed it just fine. Well, I will look into that this morning - in the mean time, if you go to the Sims 3 website and look up SimRealtor, this world is in my studio. I upload them there as a backup plan when there are issues with my site.

@B - Thank you so very much :) Did you use the donate button on the right hand side of the site?

  7. Download from the EA site as we speak. I can't wait to see it. Good morning btw :)

  8. Ugh.. I wish I wasn't up to type good morning but alas I am glad that I got to this early. There's already been over 700 downloads on the Sims 3 site, so I am assuming that route will work. Republishing the file as I type this so that link will be up very soon. I've never done evening / sunrise pictures before and I thought they were stunning so I had to share them :) Working on the save file now, its going to be GREAT!

  9. It looks great ingame. I am off to play. Did you change your mind about the fog emitters? Oh, and I did see one lot edge by the green trailer before the park. I didn't know if you want to know. Just noticed it. It doesn't bug me, so I don't care :)

I love the little campground, such a great touch and I love all your night life clubs so much better then EA ones.
You did a great job like always. :)

  11. Yes, I used the donate button, but they wouldn't let me donate. Paypal said your e-mail account is not acceptable.

(shrugs) I have never encountered that before. I will check back tomorrow to see if your issue is resolved.

Going to the Sims 3 site for the world, couldn't download it here. :)

  12. Okay, this is a different file. The one I tried last night was only 20 MB. Thank you so much for creating fun worlds for me to play.

    ReplyDelete
  13. @B - Well, when I click on it, there isn't anywhere for my email address. I don't know what to tell you - I appreciate the thought though :)

@Dutchy - When I added the campground and the houses up further in the hills, the fog just didn't look right. If you'd like though, I could add some to a separate file for you?

  14. Do you know if this world will still work without generations? I only have late night and ambitions. Thank you. c:

    ReplyDelete
  15. @Dollfie - I believe that it will. The only thing that Generations provides in this world is furnishings, so at the very least you'd have to replace the beds and I think windows in one house.. but it should definitely. If not, let me know so I know for future reference :)

  16. Just an FYI. Tried to donate via PayPal and got this for a error message:

"We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact the seller via the "Ask Seller a Question" link on the listing page. When you have the correct email address, payment can be made at www.paypal.com."

I enjoy playing in your worlds (Anju Falls is a favorite). Look forward to playing with this one.

  17. Hm... I don't understand that at all as it seems to sometimes work and sometimes not. I'll look into it. Tried updating the button... hopefully it will work 100% of the time now!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thank you for your fast reply. ~
I'll test it out and report back with any problems if I encounter any.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sr, no thats all right. I follow your opinion. :) I love this world fog or not!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Just tried the donate button again, Paypal has the same message. Maybe try going through your account and verify your e-mail address. That may be what they want. Just a suggestion.

I like going around to my favorite sites and helping them out.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well I gave PayPal a call... not exactly sure why it isn't working for you. It worked for them, and for me so not sure what to tell you :( The only thing they had was you could give them a call (1-888-221-1161). Sorry - thank you though very much for trying! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Im currently downloading your world I love it! I downloaded other worlds you made too and playing on them currently lol I will also try to donate to help :) Thanks for making all this awesome Sims 3 stuff!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. does this world include any custom content or alot of custom content? im must curious because i have been having a few issues with my game lately.
it looks beautiful though! i will still download it either way! great work, keep it up!

    ReplyDelete
  24. You will find that NOTHING on this website requires any custom content at all! No worlds, no lots, no nothing =D ENJOY!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I have given this world a lot of testing today and I have to say, it is absolutely wonderful! Not too big, has everything that I want in a world and it runs smoothly, also, it is beautiful!

I have noticed that there are NO skill books in the Library though? I don't know if this is an error with my game or they are just missing?

Thankyou for a wonderful world, Most deffinatly my favourite world ever!

  26. Okay, thanks for trying. I will give them a call.

  27. What a fantastic-looking world! But it won't load! I select a new game from the main menu, the loading bar will start to fill gradually (rather than in a shooting style like most other world loads) and as soon as it gets to the tip of the bar, it just stays there. The game tips and music still function normally, but I can't enter the world since it's still "loading." I've waited over ten minutes, too. Your other worlds and other creators' worlds work perfectly. It's just this one that won't load. Anyone else with this issue? I really wanted to play this world. It's such a shame that I can't. :(

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is what I have been looking for. Not to big with a mix of rural/suburban and city. Downloaded it and checked it out and it's gorgeous. I will wait for the save file though since I'm way to lazy to populate it myself ;P

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am not sure why it is doing that... first, do you have the game requirements? My other idea would be to fully uninstall it and then redownload thru the Sims 3 website so it goes right into the launcher. I do not know why, but sometimes that route seems to help. Please let me know if you continue to have issues!

I anticipate uploading a save file today :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am excited for a save file! Also did you see my comment about the skill books?

    Haley x

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes, I have all EPs and SPs. I even tested Plum Grove afterward, and that worked. I will try your suggestion, though. We shall see! :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Even though I have all the EPs you listed the save file won't work. The play button is greyed out and saying I don't have a ep installed when clearly I do ^.^

    ReplyDelete
  33. ooo! :) Just what i've been looking for!

I've been playing Winchester and plum grove but i guess im switching. This one looks amazing and i love how its best of both worlds

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have a problem with on of the penthouses, for Courtier Apt. the elevators arent working, it says there arent any interactions available, so my sims cant go to their room

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Anon - I am sorry, I do not know what else to suggest to solve this issue and do not have any other ideas as to why it will not work :(

@Skyelar - Thank you for reporting it, I will check into the issue :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am also having the same issue..where the game loads the progress bar until just a tiny bit remains and it never loads...all other custom worlds are working..strange. Beautiful world thank you so much for making!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love this world so much, it's the perfect size, layout, everything. I just wondered if there was an ETA for the reserved buildings? I'm thinking about building things in those places myself or replacing them with buildings from other worlds. Could you tell me what you had planned for each of the reserved buildings so I know what to replace them with? It seems most of them were going to be apartments, but there are some that are regular looking buildings. Thanks in advance. Like I said, amazing world and I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sure well most were going to be apartments, more clubs or just saved for future EP lot types :) ETA... I get distracted by new worlds often but I'm trying to do better at that!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hello SimRealtor, I've never talked to you before but I love the work you do and just wanted to say thank you for giving us good quality worlds that I'm guessing take month to create. I've never regretted downloading any of your work for my game and cant wait to see this in game.

I was wondering if this world included Ambition lots or not. I can easily tell it includes at lest some of Late nights lots. Hope to hear from you and I'll be wishing you luck on not getting distracted by new worlds.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well I am pleased to hear from you! Thankfully these worlds do not take me months to make - in fact, if I was better at concentrating I could be faster. I have 5 worlds in the works now - clearly a sim me would have "commitment issues." Anyway, yes Elmira has all Ambitions lots :) The junkyard and consignment are by the wharf, the fire station is at the top on Calypso Street and the salon is in the little town area.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Any ideas yet as to why the courtier penthouse elevators don't work? I spent an hour decorating it for my sims to find out the elevators don't work and that I have to teleport my sims up and down every time. :/

    ReplyDelete
  42. haha I understand that, I have more then handful of sims 3 cc projects that I never finished.

BTW to the people getting the can't load save file did you instal both the world file as well as the save file. I'm pretty sure you need to have the world installed in order to play a save game.

I just download and installed both files and they seem to be working fine.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh thank you. I thought I only had to download one. haha ;D Maybe it will work now

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thank you SilverSim for posting that and helping out - I will make sure to include that in the directions with that particular post.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh and INate - I am going to look into that today! Sorry for the wasted time :S

    ReplyDelete
  46. Don't worry, I wouldn't really say it was wasted, and it's not like you purposely made them not work. haha I just moved them into a different apartment for the time being.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am so excited to try this one out. I have a heartbreaker I wanted to mess around with and I needed a town with some good variety.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Camp Quasemoto is great! I have a sim just kind of living there.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I was curious if anyone else was having problems with real estate in this world? I bought the sports bar (at 11000-ish Simoleons, who wouldn't? And with the Mixologist lifetime achievement.. Didn't really have a choice). When I then click on it to enter the real estate menu to upgrade/build, it goes into it but won't allow any object placement, claiming that it's 'outside your unit', whatever that means. When I toggle on moveobjects it allows item placement but doesn't seem to update the venue value, as well as claiming that it doesn't have a bar/toilet/sink and is thus unable to open (though it clearly does).

Is there any way of fixing this? I've really liked your world so far, which has brought me back into playing Sims 3 after a few months hiatus, but this is potentially a show stopper for my family plan :(

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well, I do not know for sure but this is what I would guess. This happens if you use the objects that skip a level or what not. So, what you will want to try is to enter the cheat testingcheatsenabled true and then enter restrictbuildbuyinbuildings false. Once those two are entered you should be able to make adjustments just fine - please let me know if you are not able to :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Wow, thanks for the quick response!

Whilst using those cheats does enable item placement, it still doesn't appear to alter the lot value. "A lot value of at least $10,000 (Need $9,000)" remains under the upgrade requirements, irrespective of what I buy and where on the lot I place it. I was considering just replacing it with a LN bar, but none of them are the right size for the lot.

    It counts as a bar for purposes of my lifetime achievement, however due to stating it's closed as it lacks a bar/sink/toilet it considers itself permanently closed for purposes of weekly income, even if I try to force it to be set to open through MasterController. It remains staffed in spite of this. Interestingly, checking the value of the lot through MasterController > Status;

    "Unfurnished Cost: -$85,330
    Furniture: $86,330
    Total: $1,000"

Which would explain why the lot is defaulted to a value of $1000, just not why I can't change that through further purchases.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am sorry I have no idea why that is... or why it is not working :( The only thing I could suggest is to go to the Sims 3 forums, under the CAW and post the question there. Perhaps someone else has an idea?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Says remote server can't find file. :(

    ReplyDelete
  54. New Nurse, if you would be so kind to try again (I was messing my with my server). Either that or if it still will not work, you can try going to the Sims 3 site and under SimRealtor, it is in my studio.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Is the one on the Sims 3 site, the same as the save file?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well, the world itself is in my studio - the save file needs downloaded as well if you want that :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I have a question about this world. Are some of the houses supposed to be empty/unrentable? Coz I tried living in some of the high rise appartments and there isn't a 2nd floor to access from elevators :S

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes, it is meant to be that way. Some buildings are titled "Reserved" and are decorated on the outside but have been set aside for future lot types.

    ReplyDelete
  59. What material did you use on the mountains???

    ReplyDelete
  60. If I recall correctly, I used the extracted textures from Bridgeport :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. How did you do that??? I'm sorry I just got the game so I'm a little new here :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. What specifically? Like, the painting part? Its all a matter of adjusting the opacity and brush size - and practice :) If you look at some of my first worlds like Elk Cove, I do it much differently now and that was all from practice.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yeah I definatly get it it is practice but what textures do you blend??

    ReplyDelete
  64. They are the rock textures extracted from Bridgeport :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thanks, when I'm done with my world will you (MSR) beta test my world?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well I'd be glad to take a look at it, but I am certainly not who you'd want for a BETA tester... I'd suggest asking on the CAW forums on the Sims 3 website.
